Biography
Yue M. Lu is the Gordon McKay Professor of Electrical Engineering
and of Applied Mathematics at Harvard University.
His honors include the ECE Illinois Young Alumni Achievement Award
and selection as an IEEE Signal Processing Society Distinguished
Lecturer.
In 2024, he was elected a Fellow of the IEEE and named a Harvard
College Professor in recognition of excellence in undergraduate
teaching.
His research develops the mathematical foundations of
high-dimensional learning, inference, and information processing. By combining tools from probability, statistics, signal processing,
information theory, and random matrix theory, he seeks to characterize fundamental limits and clarify how randomness, structure, and computation shape modern data-driven systems.
