Igo's professional interests are in software development and its process.  He joined MERL in 1985 and has worked on various software technologies, including CPU Microcode, Distributed Computing and OLTP, Mobile Agents, Multidimensional Databases, Data Mining and Visualization, Recommender Systems and the ZigBee Wireless Protocol. Fred was a member of the NX4 Mainframe development project and manager of software team for the PXB1 Office Computer development project, both of which earned Mitsubishi Electric's President's Award.
